The Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum explores African American history, perspective and culture. Exhibitions include a wide array of art, cultural artifacts and other materials evocative of the African American community, and the museum also hosts Washington's annual Martin Luther King Jr. program in January. It's located in the heart of D.C., in the midst of Fort Stanton Park and west of Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
