Built in 1815, the historic St. John's Episcopal Church was created to serve residents of the White House; every U.S. President since has attended services there at least occasionally, and often regularly. Located in the heart of Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Hill, it stands directly across from the White House. All visitors are welcome to the church, which also contains the famous Pew 54: The President's Pew.
