D.C. Armory is one of the most flexible entertainment venues in the city of Washington. It can be converted into an auditorium, a sports arena, a big top or a ballroom. Past events at the Armory include Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and tryouts for the American Idol television show. The 10,000-capacity Armory is located east of the downtown area, a few blocks north of Congressional Cemetery.
