The Basilica of the National Shrine is one of America's premiere centers for Catholic worship. The shrine stands more than 200 feet above sea level in the northeast sector of Washington. Built in the early 20th century, the Shrine was carefully designed to reflect both French Gothic and modern American architectural elements.
Masses run Sun. 5:15 p.m., 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon (choir), 1:30 p.m. (in Spanish), 4:30 p.m., and Mon. - Sat. 7 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 5:15 p.m.
